L’Escapade is an ancient village house, now completely restored. It is situated in a secluded part of the listed medieval village of Lagrasse, with stunning views of the Abbey and hills beyond. Ideal for up to six people, the house has three bedrooms: one twin bedded, and two double bedded of which one has an en suite shower room. There is also a well fitted family bathroom. The house is only a few minutes walk from restaurants, cafes, and village shops, including a grocers, bakery and pharmacy. At the heart of the village is the main ‘place’ with its 14th century market hall and medieval galleried houses. Close by, the 12th Century bridge leads to the Abbey.
The short staircase up from the entrance hall leads to an open plan living space with mezzanine above and massive roof beams. Round the open fireplace is a cosy sitting area. The white walls provide a backdrop for the original paintings which fill the house with colour. The mezzanine has seating for watching television and DVD, and a study area where broad band internet facilities are available for connection. The elegant dining area seats six comfortably, and the kitchen area has all the usual facilities, including cooker, hob, microwave, dishwasher and two stainless steel fridges. Folding doors lead on to the vine covered terrace with its outstanding views of the surrounding hills. With a mosaic table for six, the terrace provides the perfect setting for al fresco eating. Deck chairs and loungers are also available.
